The Hirsh Health Law and Policy Program released an analysis of the health provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which details changes in laws related to health information and health information privacy, public and private insurance laws, public health spending, and investments in community health centers and the primary health care workforce, the analysis presents a comprehensive overview of the broad changes in U.S health policy contained in the Act.

The House of Representatives and the Senate passed versions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. There were significant differences between the two versions, especially in terms of the nature of the investment in children. Fortunately, during the conference between the House and the Senate, many of the reductions to children’s programs and tax provisions were either fully or partially restored.
