List of Frequently Asked Questions with seperate links to project specific FAQ's!

If I supply the delivery date or the date of birth (DOB), will I need a data sharing agreement?

Yes, delivery date/DOB is considered an identifier by HIPAA.  Since many organizations are different in what they will need in order to share their information, we will leave it up to the discretion of the individual teams as to whether they can submit all of the data elements.

Although we are in the process of developing Data Share Agreements, your pre-work data may be due before the agreements are finalized.  Again, pre-work is the stage to address concerns and refine data elements.  If listing the delivery date is a hindrance, please omit it or only list the month of the delivery.

How do you address differences in practice/management? i.e. .leave UAC in “in-case”?

OPQC is all about eliminating unwarranted variation in practice that is associated with suboptimal outcomes.  Some of the practices for which there is no strong evidence might be good questions for PDSAs.

Are there exceptions for babies that we won’t collect data on?

We will collect data on all “eligible” babies, i.e. all babies in our denominators.
